Thank you for your interest in serving to make our Vacation Bible School an awesome experience. Below are the various responsibilities for the opportunities available to serve in.

Elementary crew leader - Need 30am/40pm Do you like to hang out with elementary aged (entering 1st-6th grade) kids? Do you like to have fun? Then this may be just the role for you! As an Elementary Crew Leader, you will establish a relationship with a group of 5-8 elementary aged (mixed ages) kids, shepherding them to the various stations throughout the building and joining in the fun at High Seas Expedition. We are seeking at least 40 for the both morning and evening sessions.

Preschool crew leader - Need 30am/20pm Do you love preschool aged children (3, 4, 5 or entering Kindergarten)? Do you like to get down on the floor and help them learn about Jesus? Then the Preschool Crew Leader role may be just for you! As a Preschool Crew Leader you will participate in fun activities while shepherding a group of 5-7 preschool aged (3, 4, 5 or entering Kindergarten) children to the various stations located primarily on the first floor of the education wing. At least 30 are needed for the morning session and 20 for the evening session.

Jr. Crew Leader - Middle School students (entering 7th - 8th grade) or younger high school students (entering 9th and 10th grade) provide assistance with shepherding the crew members to the Adult Crew Leaders.

floater - Need willing workers If you are not available every day of VBS, or are flexible about the area in which you assist, then serving as a Floater is just for you! You will fill in any of the areas above as needed when additional volunteers are needed or an assigned volunteer is unable to attend due to illness or an unexpected conflict. If you know which days you can help now, please indicate that when you register.

Nursery - Need 10am / 6pm Do you love babies and toddlers? Do you have a heart to care for and introduce these youngest ones to Jesus? Then the Under 3's Crew Leader may be just the role for you! Yes, you may change diapers, feed and clean up these little ones, but you'll also get to participate in fun activities with these children of other VBS Volunteers in the nursery / toddler area. Ideally we would like to have 15 for the morning session and 3 for the evening session. Note: If we have too many volunteers in this area as compared to the number of children, we will ask for volunteers to provide assistance in other areas.

special needs - You will work with one or two special needs children within a crew that is led by an adult crew leader. You will assist with shepherding these children to the different stations at VBS.

Recreation - Need 3-4 am & pm Do you love playing with preschool children? As a Ship Rec Games Helper you will provide assistance to the Ship Rec Games Leader, including setting up games and crowd control. Games are located outside, weather permitting. We are looking for 3-4 helpers for the morning and evening sessions.

Bible - Do you have a heart for teaching elementary aged children about Jesus? Do you like to act? Do you enjoy creating an environment that really allows the kids to live the Bible stories each day? If any of these are you, then perhaps you would like to be a Bible Voyage Helper. As an assistant to the Bible Voyage Leader, you will help elementary crew leaders facilitate group discussions, crowd control and set up props before and sometimes after each group. Bible Voyage is located in the Teen Worship area on the 2nd floor of the Education Wing.

Elementary Service Project (Crafts) - Do you like helping elementary aged kids with creative service projects? Then the Elementary Service Project Helper may be the role you are seeking. These helpers will provide assistance to the Room Leader and to the elementary crew leaders and kids during this time. Examples of projects include tie blankets and a mural / collage project.

PreSchool Craft - Need 4am / 4pm If you are crafty but prefer working with preschool aged children, the Preschool Crafts Helper may be just for you. You will provide assistance to the Preschool Crafts Leader, including setting out supplies and helping crew leaders and children. Crafts are generally in the preschool area, although our Kindergarteners will be in another part of the church.

PreSchool Recreation - Need 4am/4pm Do you love playing with preschool children? As a Preschool Games Helper you will provide assistance to the Preschool Games Leader, including setting up games and crowd control. Games are located outside, weather permitting. We are looking for 3-4 helpers for the morning and evening sessions.

PreSchool Music - Provide assistance to the PreSchool Music Leader. helps with PreSchool music activities for preschool age.

kitchen - Are you organized and like to serve? The Galley Helper provides assistance to the Galley Leader, which can include bagging snacks, making drinks, setting up and replenishing the snacks, cleaning up after snacks are served and helping with refreshments after the closing ceremonies on the last day. 5-10 helpers are needed for each morning and evening session.

registration - Need 4am/4pm A large number of Registration Helpers are needed on Day 1 and Day 2 to facilitate walk in registrations, room and crew assignments, name tag distribution, general crowd control and data entry of registrations. These volunteers are needed 45 - 60 minutes prior to the start of VBS and are generally finished in 1 - 2 hours. The number of volunteers needed is much fewer on Days 3 - 5, so if you can only help a couple of days, this may be the perfect opportunity. We can also use assistance with pre-registration on Sundays in June.

Pre-Registration - We can also use assistance with pre-registration on Sundays in June as well as data entry of the pre-registration forms. This data entry is done via the web, so it can be done at home when it is convenient for you.

Decorating - Need 5-10 total If you are creative or crafty, but aren't available during the actual week of VBS, perhaps assisting the Decorations Leader would be perfect for you! You will work with her either in the weeks prior to VBS or on Saturday morning, July 10 and/or Sunday afternoon, July 11.

Director - Interested in joining the Director team, help us plan, recruit and organize the areas best vacation bible school around.
