I'm New to Worthington Christian Church

Our goal is to make you feel welcome in our church home! God loves you and we love you, too. Please don't hesitate to contact the church office if you have any questions.

» We have three worship services every Sunday morning. Our traditional worship service is at 8:30 AM and our two contemporary services are at 9:45 and 11:00 AM.

» We understand that the size of our church building can be intimidating. Don't worry, we have greeters and ushers available every Sunday morning to assist you — plus, we post signs throughout the church that will help to direct you to where you need to go. In addition, you may take a look at our church floor plan to get an idea of where everything is before you step foot in our building.

» The dress code at our church is about comfort. You're here to worship the Lord. A suit & tie is just as acceptable as a t-shirt & jeans.

» Parents with young children, we offer a soundproof cry room during all three of our services. The cry room is located at the back of the sanctuary near the West Entrance.

» Older children may wish to participate in our Children or Youth Ministry programs on Sunday morning. We strive to offer timely, relevant and educational Bible lessons to children of all ages.

Sunday Morning Worship at WCC

Below is a brief overview of what you can expect during our regular worship services to help you feel more at home with us.

» Worship, Praise & Greeting
We start off our service with worship and praise for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. During this time we sing, welcome those around us, read from the scriptures and pray. Song lyrics are displayed on the screens above the baptistry in front of the church. Don't worry if you don't know the songs, none of us knew the songs at first, either.

» Meditation & Prayer
This is a time of reflection and prayer (usually led by an Elder or guest speaker) to help orient our thoughts on the Lord before we take communion.

» Communion
As a believer in Jesus Christ, you are invited to share in the Lord's Supper. When you receive the trays, please take the bread and the cup, then pass them on. After a period of meditation, partake in your own time. Please place the cup in the holder in front of you.

» Offering
This is a time to share with the church financially. It is a way to thank God for God's blessings. If you are a visitor, don't feel that you have to contribute — the only gift we'd like from you is your Communication Card. Consider this service our gift to you!

» Message in Song
This is a moment of praise and thanksgiving (usually performed by our Praise Band, Choir or guest musician).

» Sermon
The sermon outline is printed in the back of the bulletin. You may also view it online to assist you in further study or for reference later in the week in case you are unable to join us on Sunday. In addition, you can download the audio of our Sunday sermons in MP3 format.

» Invitation
We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. If you believe that also, and have not made your public profession of faith and been buried with Christ in baptism (immersed as a penitent believer), you are invited to step forward and take that stand. If you have taken these stands of faith in another place and wish to transfer your membership and influence to Worthington Christian Church, we welcome you.

» Family Time
This is a time when prayer needs are presented and/or special events are announced. The service is closed with a word of prayer and a song of praise.
