Checkpoint
The Worthington Christian Church Children's Ministry is committed to "growing children in Christ." Our desire is for each child to grow to love Jesus, to live like Jesus, and to live for Jesus. As a part of our commitment to children, we are introducing Checkpoint to our Sunday morning Children's Ministry classes.

What is it?
Checkpoint is a computerized check-in system for those children attending our Sunday morning Bible classes. Checkpoint produces name badges/security tags for each individual child who attends a class. Name badges/security tags are coded with a 5 digit number and are used during the check-in and check-out process to match child and parent. In addition, Checkpoint assigns each child to the appropriate class and prints that information on the child's name badge along with any allergies, special needs or concerns.

Children's Ministry

How will it work?
Checkpoint involves three simple steps:

  1. Upon arrival the parent (or previously authorized adult) will check-in their child at any one of the Checkpoint computer stations located throughout the Children's Center. There are a number of ways that you can check in your child, but the easiest is to use the Palm Vein Reader. Once your child has been checked-in, the computer will print a child's name badge and a "parent" security card. The child will wear the name badge throughout the morning. The parent will keep the security card until checking-out the child.

  2. After receiving a name badge, the child will be escorted to the assigned classroom by the parent. The parent will notify the Children's Ministry Volunteer of the child's arrival. After checking the child's name badge, the Children's Ministry Volunteer will welcome the child to the class.

  3. At the conclusion of the class session, the parent (or a previously authorized adult) will arrive at the classroom and check-out their child by presenting the security card to the Children's Ministry Volunteer. The number on this card will be matched with the number on the name tag worn by the child. The child will then be released to the parent.

Do I need any special forms?
In some cases you will, yes. Sometimes the information in our records is incomplete or outdated. If this is the case for your family, please help us get it right by filling out a Family Information Update Form or checking your family’s profile on My Home. If your child is planning on bringing a friend, you can fill out a Visitor Information Form ahead of time. We can then include that friend in the Checkpoint system. When he or she arrives simply check-in using the visitor’s last name.

If your child is in the 6th grade and you would like to allow him or her to "self-release" from class, you will need to fill out a form for that, too. Be aware that you will still be required to check in your 6th grader as you normally would, but he/she will be able to check themselves out of class once it concludes.
