'My Home' Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I am brand new to Worthington Christian Church and I haven't yet provided you with my contact information, but I would like to sign-up for an event, or set up online giving. Can I still do that?
A: Yes, of course! Just create a Guest Account. If you wish to have your account upgraded to a Member Account, simply email and she can do that for you.
Q: I have been a member or regular attender for years but I am getting an error that says that I cannot be located in the database when I attempt to register. Why?
A: This usually happens because you are attempting to register with an email address that we do not have in our database. Our system attempts to identify members based on their full name and email address. If the information doesn't match up with what we have on file, you get an error. To fix this either use the email address that you provided to us to register OR contact and she will update our database with your new email address and then begin the registration process for you.
Note: If you wish to change the email address that you use to log into My Home you can do so once you are successfully registered. Simply hover your mouse over the word "Home" and then click on "My Account" from the drop down menu. From there you can change your password or the email address you use to log in.
Q: What is the benefit of using My Home? Why can't I just register for an event at church, etc.?
A: My Home isn't just for online sign-ups. Sure, you can go to our Facebook page and get some basic information for an upcoming event or view photos from a recent outing, but the core of our group management and planning happens at My Home.
If you are a small group or Bible study leader, My Home will enable you to send emails out to your group. If you don’t have a directory with you and need an address or phone number of a fellow member, My Home can provide that information for you.
My Home can be used to manage your online donations, view your contribution history, manage or contact members of your groups, sign-up for service opportunities, view upcoming events in the calendar, pay for books or events, search for member or guest contact information, browse our online pictorial directory...
Speaking of our online directory, My Home allows you to keep your profile, contact information and family photos up-to-date! You control your information and your privacy settings! To check or change your settings just put your mouse over the word "Home" then click on "My Account" from the drop down menu. From there just click on the tab that says, "Personal Preferences" (next to the "Account Settings" tab in red).
In short, My Home is the foundation of our online community. Our goal is not to make registration for events more difficult — instead, our goal is to make every aspect of church life as easily accessible to as many people in our community as possible.
Q: I'm a high school student. Can I use My Home, or is it for my parents only?
A: No! We encourage all Jr. High and Sr. High school students to create an account with My Home. All students can have their own My Home profile, too. You can use it to sign-up for Nxt Level events or pay for outings (with your parent's permission, of course). You can also link to your Facebook or Twitter page in your profile.
Q: Can you tell me more about Groups in My Home?
A: Groups are based on service activities and can be classified as either "open groups" or "closed groups." Individuals can join open groups at any time, but only the leader of a closed group can add new members. In addition, the leader of a group can use My Home to manage events or send out notices via email to their entire group. If you don't see your group listed yet, don't panic. We are still in the process of updating our group database. Please be patient as we work to add all WCC groups (and their members) to My Home.
Q: Why isn't my adult son or daughter listed in my family profile?
A: If your adult child no longer regularly attends WCC, he or she may not be listed in your family profile. However that does not mean that they cannot have an account with us. Simply have them register as a guest as we can upgrade their guest account to a member account. If you are attempting to sign them up for an event, please contact .
Q: I have a new email address, or I want to use an email address that you don't have on file — can I still create an account?
A: Absolutely! Don't be afraid to register as a guest! It's very easy for us to convert a guest account into a member account. All you need to do is send a quick email to and make the request. She can usually convert an account that same business day.
Q: I was able to create an account just fine, but sometimes when I try to relog into My Home it asks me for a site number..?
A: We find that most people are asked to provide a site number when they attempt to login with their User Name instead of their email address. Regardless, the site number for Worthington Christian Church is 1934.
