We have a wide variety of service projects for you to participate in on April 21 & 22, but every project has a very limited amount of space available for particpants. If you see a project below that interests you we suggest that you register early. You may register at church (in the Atrium) on Sunday, April 1, 8 and 15.

DUE TO SPACE RESTRICTIONS, ONLINE REGISTRATIONS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE FOR A LIMITED TIME. You may register online during the week, specifically Tuesday through Friday from April 3-April 6 and April 10-April 13. Otherwise, please register on Sunday morning in the Atrium.

Better Way Ministries (register now!)

Description: We hope to upgrade the children's area at the Resource Center with cleaning, building storage shelves, benches, etc.

Council for Older Adults (register now!)

Day & Time: Saturday @ 9:00 AM
Description: This is a great project for a wide variety of people who like to get outside. Volunteers will help with some spring cleaning for older adults who have some trouble getting out of their houses. Most of the projects will be gardening and other yard work (such as cleaning gutters and window washing).

Faith Mission (register now!)

Project Manager: Adam Bohman
Day & Time: Saturday Lunch Service (at both Faith Mission locations); Sunday Breakfast Service (at both Faith Mission locations) and Sunday Lunch Service (at main Faith Mission location)
Description: Groups will prepare breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning for the Faith Mission. Volunteers will need to provide certain supplies for the breakfast and be prepared to leave WCC at 6:00 AM each morning.

Send Me

Food Drive (register now!)

Project Managers: B & S Schoch; T & L Tolley
Day & Time: Saturday, April 21 & Sunday, April 22
Description: The first shift will be on Saturday morning and the second shift will be on Sunday after third service – both shifts will help sort and box food in preparation for transport to the pantry. The third shift will be later on Sunday afternoon and will be responsible for loading boxes for transport and then unloading boxes at the Worthington Food Pantry.

Habitat for Humanity Project — Worthington (register now!)

Meal Packing for Haiti (FULL!)

Project Manager: John Bender
Day & Time: Saturday @ 9:00 AM
Description: $5 per person; $20 per families. Volunteers will bag about 500 meals to be shipped to Haiti for the Lifeline Christian Mission's feeding program. This is a great project for families, groups of friends or "older folks."

Highbluffs Neighborhood Outreach (register now!)

Description: Volunteers will help out a single mom (who lives in the neighborhood to our west). Our chores will mainly include yard work, but there could be more projects to come!

Oil Changes (register now!)

Description: A small group of folks will gather to do oil changes for singles and elderly. We would ask each person coming for an oil change to bring their own oil filter. Knowledge or a willingness to learn how to change oil would be helpful!

Pregnancy Decision Health Center (register now!)

Day & Time: Saturday @ 9:00 AM
Description: We will support PDHC by helping to prepare offices for them to share with other non-profit groups. If you are a painter and have some painting supplies, you might consider helping this mission!

Ronald McDonald House (register now!)

Description: Responsible for the preparation of lunch or dinner for the families visiting the Ronald McDonald House near Children's Hospital.

Day & Time: Saturday; two shifts (9:00 AM to Noon and Noon to 2:30 PM)
Description: Help make sleeping bags from old donated blankets that will end up being distributed right here in Columbus. With eight layers of blankets, men's neckties, needles, thread and some willing workers — we will watch as sleeping bags are made. Be sure to join us for our Souper Lunch! Bring a crockpot of soup to share per family/individual. Lunch will be served from 11:30 to Noon. Each participant will need thimbles and each family/individual will need to write a letter to the person who will be receiving the sleeping bag.

TAASC — Watersports for handicapped (register now!)

Description: TAASC has been a fixture for Send Me from the beginning. A great group that supports the Wounded Warriors and other handicapped folks, helping them to experience sports like never before. This project could include some light construction, power washing boats, helping them get ready for the season.

Teacher 'Thank You' Packs (register now!)

Description: This is a great project for kids and older folks! Volunteers will put bags together for the teachers of Slate Hill Elementary and other schools in the Worthington district. This is always an encouragement for these teachers who work in some extreme circumstances.

Tree of Life (register now!)

Description: We want to be sure to reach out to the Christian School WCC supports. We will have a project to work at Tree of Life's ministry center, helping to continue outside work and maybe some inside work. Team members can bring gardening tools of all sorts, including trimmers. Tree of Life does have some of these items, but you might also want to bring a pair of gloves, too! Each family needs to bring one bottle of multi-purpose cleaner (window) and a roll of paper towels.

Worthington Food Pantry work Day (FULL!)

Description: Volunteers will work with the Worthington Food Pantry on Saturday afternoon performing various spring cleaning chores as well as helping customers for the day.

Youth for Christ, Franklinton area (FULL!)

Description: Working at this downtown mission is a real treat! There is a lot of work, some painting, trimming, gardening, cleaning, but so rewarding.
