Good morning! I’m standing here in our Children’s Ministry area because we have some exciting news to share with you. Back in June, we announced that Tom Sherrod will be transitioning this fall into a new role as Care Minister.
We are encouraged that the care ministries within our church family will have solid leadership as we Follow Jesus Together. Since Tom’s acceptance of his new role back in February, we have been prayerfully seeking the right person to oversee the essential role as Children’s Minister at WCC.
Today after months of prayer and many conversations, our leadership has invited Carrie Wiley to be our next Children’s Minister and Carrie has accepted!
Carrie and her family are not strangers to WCC. She, her husband Russ and their kids Noah, Jared and Hannah have been members of WCC for several years and last year Carrie joined our staff as administrative assistant to Will Ellis, our Student Minister.
Carrie is a graduate of Great Lakes Christian College with a bachelor’s degree in Christian Education. She has experience as a day care director and involvement in children’s ministry.
Carrie is passionate about family. She has a heart for children and a desire to see families grow in relationship with Jesus. We are thankful that God is calling her to lead in this vital role.
Carrie will officially take the lead as Children’s Minister and Tom Sherrod will transition to Care Minister on September 1.
We’re living in unusual times as our community and world faces many challenges. So today, we ask that you would be in prayer for Carrie, Russ and her family as they transition… Tom and Carolyn as they transition… and really, our entire team as we continually seek ways to engage families to discover God’s great love through Jesus.
We are so thankful for you… that God is actively working through the lives of his people at Worthington Christian Church as we Follow Jesus Together.
