Blood Drive
August 1 @ 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM EDT
We regularly serve our community by partnering with the Red Cross to host blood drives. Your single donation of a pint of blood has the potential to save up to four lives. How is that possible?? Well, a donation of whole blood can be transfused in its original form, or used to help multiple people when separated into specific components or red cells, plasma and platelets. Either way, your donation will make a huge difference in someone’s life.
Unfortunately, since COVID hit, the Red Cross has experienced a prolonged shortage of blood donations. This shortage impacts multiple people from all walks of life — trauma patients, cancer patients, patients who need major surgery, sickle cell patients, burn patients, patients with chronic diseases and even some newborns.
If you are eligible to donate, please consider participating in our next blood drive on Monday, August 1 from 1:00 to 7:00 PM in the Atrium. If that date and time doesn’t work for you, we strongly encourage you to go to the Red Cross website (redcrossblood.org) and look for a donation center near you and make an appointment better suited to your schedule.
