DivorceCare for Kids
January 22 @ 6:45 PM - 8:30 PM EST
An event every week that begins at 6:45 PM on Wednesday, repeating until Wednesday, April 8, 2020
Help your children heal from the pain of divorce.
Are your children angry, hurt, and confused about your separation or divorce? A DivorceCare for Kids (DC4K) group is a safe, fun place where your children can learn skills that will help them heal. DC4K groups blend, games, music, stories, videos and discussion to help kids process the divorce and move forward.
Groups meet for 13-weeks on the same day and time as DivorceCare, but right next door in rm. 135. DC4K is designed for children ages 5-12.
Unfortunately a DivorceCare for Teens group does not exist at this time. However, if your teenage son or daughter is struggling with your divorce, they may benefit from volunteering at a DivorceCare for Kids program. Other recommended resources (from the folks who developed the DivorceCare program) include:
- The Big D: Divorce thru the Eyes of a Teen, developed by Krista Smith, a former DC4K leader
- Dealing with Divorce: Finding Direction When Your Parents Split Up, developed by Elizabeth Oates, one of our experts in our DivorceCare materials
