Life Groups

Our Life Groups focus on Bible studies, fellowship, prayer, encouragement and outreach. Campus Life Groups will meet at the church on Sunday mornings and our Community Life Groups will generally meet in the homes of various group leaders throughout the Columbus, Ohio area including Lewis Center, Worthington, Westerville, North Columbus, Gahanna and Dublin. Often, our Life Groups will participate in whatever church-wide Bible study and sermon series that we are involved in.

You may notice that many of our Campus Life Groups (Sunday morning Bible studies) cater to a specific demographic. This isn’t meant to exclude anyone. Instead, it is meant to build community by reaching each individual where they are in their life.

Questions? Please contact Patti Remaklus.

Our Campus Life Groups normally meet every Sunday morning at 9:45 or 11:00 AM.

Making an Impact

Our mission statement is, “We exist to make and develop followers of Jesus Christ.” Part of following Jesus includes loving our neighbor and doing what we can to help those in need. In this way, we can impact the world in a positive way.

We offer several church-wide events throughout the year specifically geared toward making a positive impact in the world. Such events include Hunger Bowl, Operation Christmas Child, Send Me, Vacation Bible School and Thanksgiving Feast food drive. Various other ministries within our church, such as our Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry and several Life Groups, regularly engage in donation drives and/or community service several times a year.

These outreach efforts not only requires a lot of time, but financial support as well. We encourage you to prayerfully consider financially supporting Worthington Christian Church.

Like any church, we have several volunteer opportunities available! Some are seasonal and some are on-going. If you would like to know more about our service opportunities, please continue to browse our site.

Service Opportunities

Send Me

Send Me

Send Me is a month-long event, held twice a year (in the Spring and Fall) where we encourage everyone dedicate a few hours to volunteer or support a service project of their choice. Our goal is that the experience will inspire and encourage you to continue to volunteer/support that particular project throughout the year!

We are taking a break from ‘Send More’ for the Fall of 2019. Our next Send Me Service Month will be in Spring 2020. Please check back for a list of service projects you can participate in.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity Build

Worthington Christian Church is partnering with Habitat for Humanity to build a house for a family in need in Columbus.

We will prep the build materials on Friday, October 11 and then build the walls and deliver them to the final construction site on Saturday, October 12. The work will happen rain or shine, so be sure to dress for the weather.

This is a HUGE project that will requires 150 volunteers to complete, but what an amazing impact it will make on our community! Details about the build, including a chance to sign-up, will be available soon.

Hunger Bowl

We partner with Lifeline Christian Mission to pack 100,000 meals to send to poverty stricken school children in Grand Goave, Haiti once a year on Super Bowl Sunday. After each worship service that day, volunteers will gather in the Family Life Center to pack meals.

Our goal is to pack 25,000 meals in four separate one hour sessions, which means we will need 108 volunteers per hour.

Volunteer registration begins in December. Join the Hunger Bowl today!

Vacation Bible School

VBS is a great experience for children and adults! Registration usually begins around Easter. All kids, age 3 through 6th grade, are encouraged to participate.

Parents, we always offer two identical sessions — one in the evening and one in the morning — in mid-July. Details will be announced soon! As always, there is no charge for VBS.

For more information, please visit our Vacation Bible School website.

Serving the Church

We have several volunteer opportunities at the church for all personality-types and skill-levels!

You can be a greeter on Sunday morning, do clean-up work after communion, pull weeds in the flower beds during the spring & summer, help out in the nursery, shovel snow in the winter, prepare meals for special events, etc.

Please contact Alison Morrow if you would like more information about how you can volunteer at church!
