Join us for worship!

Due to COVID, we request that members and guests register in advance if they plan to be in the Worship Center on Sunday morning. (Details about why we have made that decision and how it will work can be found in the ‘WCC Regathering Plan’ below.)

If you would like to join us this Sunday, please click the blue button to register and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Register for in-person worship!

NOTE: Registration for Sunday morning services will begin the Monday before each Sunday service.
The button above will be updated every Monday morning.

WCC Regathering Plan

We request registration for two reasons: 1) to maintain proper social distancing and 2) so we can contact you if an attendee happens to test positive the week following worshiping together.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

In order to ensure we maintain six feet of space between everyone (or each family group) we are limiting our service capacity to 300 people per hour, and we’re requiring registration for everyone who plans to attend our services. Every other pew will be used and we will post signs with the capacity limit per pew.

In addition, we will be asking our members and friends to continue to maintain proper social distancing while at church and to refrain from hugs and shaking hands. Also, our greeters, cleaning crew and tech team will all be wearing masks and we ask that you to do the same.

NOTIFYING MEMBERS IF SOMEONE FALLS ILL

If an attendee tests positive for COVID the week following attending worship with us and discloses that information to the church, we are obligated to you to keep the identity of that person anonymous while also notifying all those who participated in the service they attended that they may has been exposed to the virus. Without registering, we can’t notify you.

Yes,  the worship time for third service is a little different. The reason for that is to give our team of volunteers enough time to disinfect the pews and high traffic areas between each service.

On Tuesday, July 7, Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health issued an order for seven counties designated at Red Alert Level 3 requiring face coverings in public.

The specifics of that order includes:

  • In any indoor location that is not a residence;
  • When outdoors and unable to consistently maintain a distance of six feet or more from individuals who are not members of their household; or
  • While waiting for, riding, driving, or operating public transportation, a taxi, a private car service, or a ride-sharing vehicle.

Out of respect and consideration for those of us who are ‘at-risk’ (or caring for someone ‘at-risk’) we ask that anyone attending our in-person worship services to please wear a mask.

Registration isn’t just about social distancing. By limiting the capacity of the Worship Center to 300 people per service, we will be able to seat families, couples and individuals six feet apart. However, the primary reason we ask that you register is so we can notify you if there’s a chance you may have been exposed to the virus during worship. If an attendee tests positive for COVID the week following attending worship and discloses that information to the church, we are obligated to you to keep the identity of that person anonymous while also notifying all those who participated in the service they attended that they may has been exposed to the virus. Simply put — without registering, we can’t notify you.

Registration will begin the Monday before each Sunday service and end at midnight on Saturday.

This means that registration for the June 28 worship services will begin on Monday, June 22 and registration for the July 5 worship services will begin on Monday, June 29, etc. Registration will be done through Realm and we will post links right here on our website, in the eView and on our various social media outlets when appropriate.

Communion elements will be individually wrapped and they will be provided as you enter the Worship Center. In addition, we will not be handing out bulletins or passing the offering plate. Instead we encourage you to give online, by mail or by dropping your contribution into one of the Generous boxes located in the back of the Worship Center.

Please dispose of empty communion cups when exiting the service.

We are in the process of resuming on-campus Adult Bible studies. However, it will be slightly different than the way we did it prior to lockdown. For details, please contact Patti Remaklus.

Kids Sunday School resumed during the month of October with class size capped to maintain proper social distancing per room. For details, please contact Carrie Wiley.

Youth Groups have also seen some modifications to the way they meet. For details, please contact Will Ellis.

The Kids Ministry has plans in place to make the Nursery & Toddler classes available, and re-launch Kids Sunday School, during the month of October. Details about what that will look like can be found on the Kids Ministry webpage.

However, the Cry Room will not be available as the room is not big enough to maintain proper social distancing. If that changes, we will announce that here.

If you are not comfortable with meeting in person just yet, no worries! We will continue to stream our services online at live.worthingtoncc.org at 8:30, 9:45 and 11:11 AM. The online campus is a permanent part of Worthington Christian Church so if you’re ever out-of-town, home sick or just can’t make it in, you can still join us online. In addition, if you miss a sermon, or just want to revisit an old favorite, stop by our sermon archive.

We are available to host most weddings and/or funerals (with prior approval) as long as the Ohio Department of Health guidance on maintaining proper social distancing, etc. are followed.

Regular office hours will resume on Monday, June 15. However, to ensure the safety of our staff, we are requesting that anyone who wants to speak with a minister or otherwise visit the office to please make an appointment first and wear a face mask. Walk-in appointments or visits will not be allowed at this time.
