Local Impact

"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these" (Mark 12:30-31).

Making an impact in our community

Community impact is a big deal for our church and is one of our core values. One of the ways we can make an impact in our community is to partner with other organizations who are striving to do the same.

Below is our ‘Impact Partnership’ list. Each organization on this list has an ongoing partnership with our church; we are involved with them throughout the year in various ways.

Please browse the Impact Opportunities list. If a particular listing looks like a good fit for you (or your group/family), click the button to contact the Partnership Champion. The Partnership Champion serves as our church leader for that partnership and can provide you with more information and help you get involved.

If you have questions about Impact Partnership as a whole, please contact Alison Morrow.

Slate Hill Elementary

Alison Morrow
In proximity, Slate Hill Elementary is our nearest elementary school. Our goal is to support our local elementary school by offering help where needed. This may include yard work, teacher encouragement or whatever helpful task they request.

Worthington Resource Pantry

Chris Mossgrove
We have an ongoing collection of food and resource items to help keep the Worthington Resource Pantry well stocked. Please drop your donations in the large blue bin by the front door of our church. The WRP also looks for weekly volunteers to help at their warehouse.

Red Cross Blood Drive

Kristie McGlaughlin
WCC has served as a host for blood drives with the Red Cross for over 20 years. Regular blood donations are vital to keep area hospitals well stocked and we're pleased to be able to use our space for the benefit of the community. Blood Drives are typically held on a quarterly basis in the Atrium.

Worthington Christian Village

Cindy Baker
Worthington Christian Village (WCV) is located right behind our church and we have had an ongoing partnership with them for years. There are several ways to help the village, from visiting with the residents to flipping mattresses.

Habitat for Humanity

Jon Linton
Each fall, our church partners with Habitat for Humanity to frame the walls of a house in our church parking lot. We call this our 'Habitat Build.' However, there are always ongoing opportunities to work on-site for the current home being built throughout the year.

Ronald McDonald House

Rick Fuller
The Ronald McDonald House is adjacent to Nationwide Children’s Hospital and they provide housing for patients’ families. We often take a team down to the house to provide a meal for the families staying with them.

Dream Center

Alison Morrow
Each fall, we collect ‘Thanksgiving Baskets’ for the Dream Center and look for volunteers to help distribute them.  The Dream Center offers various serving opportunities daily, and they have locations in downtown Columbus and Delaware.

LifeWise Academy

Alison Morrow
LifeWise Academy teaches character traits for Elementary aged kids through a biblical lens. LifeWise is currently in the process of starting its program in a few of the Worthington elementary schools.

Pregnancy Decision Health Center

Alison Morrow
The Pregnancy Decision Health Center (PDHC) has four locations in central Ohio and one is located in the heart of Worthington. WCC supports the PDHC with different collections throughout the year and there are also opportunities to work with them.
